Jonathan E. Golub, PhD, MPH, is a Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and International Health. He received his Masters in Public Health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and his PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research focuses on the epidemiology of tuberculosis in South Africa, Brazil and India with specific focus on the drivers of TB in these settings. He has led NIH and Gates funded clinical trials, cluster randomized trials and observational studies investigating strategies for preventing TB among HIV-infected patients (South Africa, Brazil), the interaction between TB and diabetes (India, South Africa, Brazil) and the impact of tobacco, indoor air pollution and alcohol use on TB and HIV (India, South Africa, Brazil). 

He has trained over 100 clinicians and public health researchers in Brazil, India and South Africa through his leadership of Fogarty training programs in these countries. In addition to Fogarty training, his interest in teaching extends to his Bloomberg School of Public Health course entitled "Epidemiologic Basis for TB Control" which is taught thrice yearly in online and in-person formats. more
