Background
A third-generation Medical Doctor, Dr. Tabacco grew up watching his grandfathers, uncles, and father care for patients at their family home and for the communities they loved. Dr. Tabacco strives for this ideal of being available and offering care to the community he grew up in. Having conducted his training in the Navy medical education system as well as locally at the University of Maryland/Union Memorial Hospital, Dr. Tabacco enjoys the internist role as a center of community health, fielding daily minor concerns as well as more pressing medical issues that occasionally involve a higher level of hospital care.
In order to care for all of his patient's medical and physical concerns, Dr. Tabacco spent a year of fellowship training with the Navy posted at Naval Hospital Pensacola/ Andrews institute to be able to help patients with muscle and joint pains as they age and enhance nutritional goals. While Working at Naval hospital Pensacola Dr. Tabacco developed a passion for caring for service men and women and continues this dedication by educating military first responders through his professorship at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Tabacco's goal is to keep all patients healthy and active through exercise and nutrition as they age. Dr. Tabacco continues to serve as an adjunct professor at GW University School of Medicine and Medical Director for the GW university Athletic department. He has been honored by my peers as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor over the past three years.
