Dr. Byam is a clinical associate professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Byam is an acute care surgeon with a robust general surgery and trauma surgery practice based at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD. He has experience treating both routine and complex surgical patients using a variety of techniques including laparoscopy.
After earning his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, Dr. Byam completed a surgical residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. He underwent further subspecialty training at the University of Chicago, completing a fellowship in solid organ Abdominal Transplant surgery.
Dr. Byam worked for five years as an acute care general surgeon at United Medical Center in Washington DC before joining the staff at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Byam is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He remains active in his local community, is an avid triathlete, and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
