Background
Corinne Casey, O.D., F.A.A.O., is an optometrist treating patients at Wilmer Eye Institute’s Columbia and Odenton, Maryland locations. Dr. Casey provides comprehensive eye care and specializes in evaluation and management of glaucoma, ocular surface disorders, and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases.
Dr. Casey was salutatorian of the 2011 graduating class at New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. After obtaining her doctor of optometry degree, she completed a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center in Maryland. After completing residency training, she gained additional experience managing medical and post-surgical glaucoma as a consultative optometrist. She also provided inpatient and emergency department ophthalmology consultations for Mercy Medical Center.
Dr. Casey spent several years as a preceptor for optometry student clinical education, and frequently presents optometric continuing education lectures. In 2015 she earned fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. Her public health interests include reducing healthcare disparities by improving health literacy and access to care. In 2019, her advocacy efforts helped expand access to eye care services in Maryland.
