Background
Ada Graham is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon in the National Capital Region, specializing in colon and rectal surgery. This includes colon cancer, rectal cancer, anal cancer, diverticulitis, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, as well as such diseases as hemorrhoids and anal fissures. She is passionate about working with referring physicians to provide patients with the most effective treatment option. Dr. Graham's research focuses on inflammatory bowel disease and quality improvement initiatives such as ERAS, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery. She chose colon and rectal surgery as a way to help improve people's quality of life.
Dr. Graham received her undergraduate degree in linguistics from Dartmouth College, summa cum laude, and was a park ranger in New Zealand and high school teacher in Thailand all before attending medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her general surgical residency at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, and her colorectal surgery fellowship at the University of Chicago.
