Emergency Medicine


Aaryn Hammond, M.D., joined the Department of Emergency Medicine as an instructor in July 2019. She works clinically in the emergency department at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

She completed her residency in the Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the program, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.  

She completed Focused Advanced Specialty Training (FAST) at Johns Hopkins in the science of health care delivery with a focus on homelessness and emergency department care utilization. During her residency, she also earned the annual Frank L. Coulson, Jr. Award for Clinical Excellence, an award presented by the Miller Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence at Johns Hopkins Medicine that recognizes and promotes clinical excellence for the benefit of individuals and communities.

Her professional and research interests include social emergency medicine with a focus on health disparities and the improvement of health care for indigent and underserved communities. more
