Background

Dr. Kelly Myers is an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Radiology, Breast Imaging section.  She specializes in the interpretation of breast imaging exams and image-guided procedures of the breast, including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, MRI guided breast biopsies and pre-operative localization procedures of the breast.

In 2003, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering.  She then attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she spent an additional research year funded by a Doris Duke Research Fellowship.  After an internship year at Flushing Hospital, Dr. Myers attended Johns Hopkins for Radiology Residency.  During residency, she pursued research interests funded by a T32 Ruth Kirschstein research grant.  She then went to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for a breast imaging fellowship, and in 2014 joined the staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering for one year prior to returning to Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Myers’ research interests focus on ways to improve the detection of breast cancer.  This includes the investigation of new, developing technologies as well as optimizing existing technologies to improve the detection of breast cancer.  Dr. Myers also has a strong interest in resident education, both through one-on-one teaching at the workstation and in creating educational resources.
