Activity and Mobility Promotion Toolkit

Our activity and mobility promotion team has developed several tools to help you implement an activity and mobility promotion program in your institution.

Johns Hopkins Highest Level of Mobility (JH-HLM) Scale

We developed the JH-HLM scale to serve as a regular assessment of patient mobility. Have questions? Download the JH-HLM FAQ.

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins University are currently studying the reliability and validity of this scale. If you wish to use this scale, it should be referred to as the Johns Hopkins – Highest Level of Mobility (JH-HLM) scale.

Mobility Goal Calculator

The Johns Hopkins Mobility Goal Calculator establishes an algorithm approach to setting daily mobility goals based on mobility limitation assessments. Establishing mobility goals is an effective strategy to improve overall mobility levels.

Have questions? Download the Mobility Calculator FAQ.

Patient Mobilization: Attitudes and Beliefs Survey

Success in implementing patient mobility quality improvement processes requires evaluating providers’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. This novel survey identifies important barriers to mobilizing inpatients.
