Lauren graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland, with a focus in program development and community organization. She joined the Department of Thoracic Surgery in May of 2017.

Lauren develops educational programs related to thoracic malignancies for patients and families, as well as the medical community. She develops and manages a new Lung Cancer Survivorship Program and is responsible for overseeing the Division of Thoracic Surgery's support network for cancer patients. In addition, Lauren conducts analysis of the thoracic surgery registry data to develop screening, treatment and survivorship priorities and aids in the development and evaluation of lung/esophageal cancer initiatives in the community. Lauren's efforts aim to help Hopkins patients and the greater community live healthier, cancer free lives.
