Exercise as Medicine Symposium

This one-day multidisciplinary symposium on the science of exercise as medicine highlights clinical activities and research on physical activity and exercise at Johns Hopkins and around the world. After the success of our inaugural symposium in 2018, we plan to gather every year to promote research and study the role of exercise in preventing and treating disease.

As part of the symposium, we aim to:

  • Report the effects of exercise on a variety of diseases
  • Stimulate collaboration among researchers across departments and disciplines
  • Promote translational research from bench to bench press
  • Encourage philanthropy to provide funding for exercise and disease prevention and treatment

Save the date: The second annual Exercise as Medicine Symposium will take place April 12, 2019, in Baltimore.
