Jonathan Efron, M.D.

Jonathan Efron, M.D.

Jonathan Efron serves as the Johns Hopkins Medicine senior vice president for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP). Dr. Efron is a highly regarded colorectal surgeon with a clinical focus in colon and rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He currently serves as chief of surgery for Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) and executive vice director for the Department of Surgery, where he assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations and serving as a liaison between The Johns Hopkins Hospital and its affiliates. Dr. Efron has also served as the chief of the Ravitch Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery in the Department of Surgery since 2009 and was installed as The Mark M. Ravitch, M.D., Endowed Professor in Gastrointestinal Surgery in 2016. He served as interim director of surgery from 2013 to 2015.

His extensive experience in developing health care delivery strategies and his research in improving surgical care will be a valuable asset in the OJHP's mission to advance new, innovative care models and coordinate the clinical activities of faculty, JHCP, and community and aligned physicians across Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Efron will continue in his role as executive vice director for the Department of Surgery and step down as chief of surgery of the Ravitch Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery. He will also continue to see patients on a regular but more limited basis.

Steven J. Kravet, M.D.

Steven Kravet serves as the president of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) and as the deputy to the Johns Hopkins Medicine senior vice president for the OJHP. An associate professor of medicine, Kravet heads the largest primary care group in Maryland, Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, a network of suburban community practices that serves more than 280,000 patients annually at more than 35 locations throughout the state. A third-generation pharmacist and community health care advocate who prizes the relationships that develop between patients and care givers, Kravet has spent 17 years at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, providing strong leadership in a wide variety of community health services. His unique experience as a full-time faculty member and the leader of the increasingly important JHCP organization will help provide balance and focus to OJHP.

Kimberlee Sherbrooke, M.H.A.

Kimberlee Sherbrooke is chief operating officer of the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP), and Vice President of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Executive Director of the Clinical Practice Association. In her current role, she manages many core functions, including the revenue cycle, practice management, physician training, Access Services and telemedicine. Sherbrooke is leading efforts to develop the Medical Services Office to expand the network of Johns Hopkins-affiliated physicians. Before joining Johns Hopkins, Sherbrooke was the chief operating officer for Indiana University Health Physicians, a large multispecialty group practice in Indianapolis that is integrated with Indiana University Health. In that role, she brought together more than 50 private groups and academic departments, oversaw practice operations in some 150 locations and physician services in 11 hospitals, and helped develop a centralized call center focused on single-call resolution. An Indiana native, Sherbrooke earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Purdue University and a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University. She is a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a past chair of the American Medical Group Association’s Chief Operating Officer Leadership Council.
