General Medicine (Nelson 6)

Nelson 6 is a 23-bed adult general medicine telemetry unit. Nelson 6 works with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, physicians, pharmacists, social workers, case managers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, home care coordinators, and additional supportive services. The Nelson 6 staff is committed to clinical excellence, safety, and exceptional patient/family-centered care through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Patient Population

  • Nelson 6 cares for a variety of patients, including those with respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematological, renal, and rheumatologic diagnoses. Other specialties, such as wound care, psychiatry, infectious disease, substance abuse, palliative care, and the pain team can be consulted. Nelson 6 specializes in Cystic Fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
