Awards

At the annual SHINE Conference, the Johns Hopkins Center for Nursing Inquiry recognizes a nurse or nurse-led team for their significant contributions to nursing science. This year, six awards will be granted: Excellence in Evidence-based Practice, Excellence in Quality Improvement, Excellence in Research, Student Project, SHINE, and Impact Awards. 

You will not automatically be considered for an award. You must indicate your choice when you submit your abstract. Award winners will be notified via email, no later than February 20, 2023.  Winners will be awarded a prize, in-person, during the 2023 SHINE Conference. 


Excellence in Evidence-based Practice Award

The Excellence in Evidence-based Practice Award recognizes a nurse or nurse-led team for conducting outstanding work in the area of evidence-based practice. The award winner is selected by the Abstract Review Committee.

Excellence in Quality Improvement Award

The Excellence in Quality Improvement Award recognizes a nurse or nurse-led team for conducting outstanding work in the area of quality improvement. The award winner is selected by the Abstract Review Committee.
 

Excellence in Research Award

The Excellence in Research Award recognizes a nurse or nurse-led team for conducting outstanding work in the area of research. The award winner is selected by the Abstract Review Committee.
 

Student Project Award

The Student Project Award recognizes a student for conducting outstanding inquiry work. The award winner is selected by the Abstract Review Committee.
 

SHINE Award

The SHINE Award recognizes the best overall abstract submission for that conference year. The award winner is selected by the Abstract Review Committee.
 

Impact Award

The Impact Award recognizes a nurse or nurse-led team for their outstanding impact on the health care system as a whole. The award winner is selected by the Chief Nursing Officers.
