Experience 125: A Year of Celebrations

125 global celebrations to honor 125 years of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

Party like it’s 1893! The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine will turn 125 years old in October. Birthday celebrations have already commenced and will continue throughout the calendar year.

Alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends are invited to commemorate the quasquicentennial of tradition and innovation by hosting 125 social gatherings around the globe. Thus far, there have been 70 gatherings and counting—including a special Dine with a Doc networking event for students and alumni who are underrepresented in medicine held Feb. 22, a scholarship recognition event for school of medicine donors and student recipients held April 10, a White Coat Ceremony for current medical students held April 19, and several reunion and alumni weekend class dinners held June 1–2.

It’s not too late to join or create an Experience 125 Celebration. Any gathering of two or more friends of the school of medicine who spend time discussing the school counts toward the goal: Just be sure to take a photo holding up 125!
