Getting Your Flu Shot
Date: October 6, 2014
Because the flu season can begin as early as October, Johns Hopkins Medicine is making the flu vaccine available now at various hospital and university clinics. The mandatory influenza vaccination program, now in its third year, requires staff, faculty, trainees and students to get a flu shot every fall if they provide patient care or work in patient care areas. This year’s compliance deadline is Dec. 2 for all Johns Hopkins Medicine entities, except for All Children’s Hospital, which is Nov. 19. Those who do not get their shot at a Johns Hopkins location must provide documentation that they have been vaccinated by those dates. Employees who have medical or religious reasons to decline the vaccination must submit a request for an exception by Nov. 4.
Visit hopkinsmedicine.org/mandatoryflu for details of the dates, times and locations you can receive a flu shot, as well as information about the vaccination policy.
