Media Relations, Public Relations and Corporate Communications Team

Rachel joined the media relations team as a senior communications specialist in June 2017.

In this role, she is responsible for writing about the Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences (IBBS) and coordinating media coverage of the institute's research. Previously, Rachel worked with the team as an IBBS science writing intern, where she wrote press releases and stories for Fundamentals, the basic science e-newsletter. She also worked as a media relations representative before beginning her current job. Rachel graduated in May 2016 from the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, with a minor in chemistry, and a certificate in public and professional writing.
