Media Advisory: Johns Hopkins To Host Annual Stem Cell Research Symposium

The Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund will hold its sixth annual Maryland Stem Cell Research Symposium on the Johns Hopkins medical campus on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. The event will feature researchers from local institutions, including The Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Admission is free of charge, and members of the public are welcome to come and learn about the latest advancements in stem cell research, progress toward stem cell therapies and new technological developments. Topics to be covered include converting stem cells into specific tissue types, treating autoimmune diseases, using stem cells to facilitate wound healing in diabetic patients and more.
