What: Johns Hopkins-affiliated startup companies featuring therapeutic, diagnostic and health care IT solutions

On Tuesday, April 26, Baltimore venture capital fund Greenspring Associates will be hosting Digital Health Day, designed to bring together stakeholders interested in the digital health care space. The day includes panel discussions on big data, its influence on hospital decisions and how it improves health. Panel speakers include individuals from Jabil, Google, Merck, Beckton Dickinson and Johns Hopkins, including Peter Greene, Johns Hopkins’ chief medical information officer, and emocha, a startup company spun out of the university.

The following day, Wednesday, April 27, journalists are invited to hear from several Johns Hopkins-affiliated startups as the event continues with Mid-Atlantic University Technology Day. This university technology showcase, which will run from 8:20 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at City Garage in Baltimore, will feature presentations by 15 early-stage university startup companies (see schedule below).

The event is a collaborative effort between The Johns Hopkins University’s Technology Ventures office, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Virginia and venture capital firm Greenspring Associates. The event will attract startup investors from across the nation, providing an opportunity for a glimpse of the range, depth and breadth of technologies coming out of these universities.
