Biomedical engineer Natalia Trayanova has been elected as a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. The distinction recognizes and honors academic inventors who have created or facilitated outstanding inventions that have had an impact on society. Trayanova is a leader in creating 3D virtual heart models to personalize ventricular and atrial fibrillation. Read more.

Congratulations to neuroscientist Seth Blackshaw for receiving the 2019 Stein Innovation Award from Research to Prevent Blindness. The award provides funding to scientists who propose cutting-edge and innovative vision research. Blackshaw’s work examines how genes control the differentiation of cell types in the retina.
