Image of the Month: Nano-promises

Published in Fundamentals - Fundamentals August 2020

Nanoparticles are among the most controversial materials in science today. They hold the potential to revolutionize drug delivery and enhance medical imaging, but they also carry concerns about their unknown impact on health and the environment. This image shows a droplet of nanoparticles suspended in a liquid and then dried. The patterns show differences in densities between nanoparticles in the mixture.
