Education and Training Opportunities for Employees

Johns Hopkins provides training opportunities to advance your education and development and enhance your job performance and professional growth.

 From in-person classes to books, podcasts and more, there is a variety of resources to help you gain new skills and further your career.

Here are just some of the opportunities.

Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System Corporation Employees

  • Certification and degree programs: The hospital has partnered with Baltimore City Community College to give employees the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts degree from the college’s fully accredited general studies program.
  • Revenue Cycle Management Academy cohort: Johns Hopkins employees and local residents have the opportunity to learn how revenue cycle management is performed in the hospital. Apply by Friday, Aug. 2, for the cohort that begins Sept. 3.
  • Project REACH (Resources and Education for the Advancement of Careers at Hopkins): This career acceleration program is designed to help employees gain the skills and knowledge necessary to fill vacant health care positions.
  • Project LINC (Ladders in Nursing Careers): LINC is an opportunity for full-time employees who want to become registered nurses but are unable to do so due to financial or educational constraints.
  • Learning and organization development opportunities: This team will work with you and/or your department to improve teamwork and group effectiveness and provide opportunities for individual and team growth through coaching, manager resources, leadership development and other programs.
  • Career advising: The Center for Career Development provides employees a range of services, such as resume review, executive coaching and individual career advising.

School of Medicine Employees

  • Professional development: Get the knowledge you need to grow, with hundreds of classroom and online courses and other resources that teach everything from technology know-how to clinical, business and finance skills.
  • Leadership learning: Learn how to lead others and advance professionally with a wide range of courses that cover topics from communicating with skill and tact to employment law.
  • Career management: Learn about the processes and systems in place to assist you in achieving your career goals, such as professional development courses, tuition assistance or the Leadership Development Program.

In addition to the resources above, school of medicine faculty and staff members are guaranteed three days of professional development. There are also trainings in SAP and other financial systems, research administration and administrative development.
