Dancing with the Hopkins Stars

An all-new cast of 16 of your colleagues from The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System Corporation, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine take the stage to bedazzle the audience with their star-studded performances, while raising funds for United Way or their charity of choice. They will compete for two awards—best dance performance and highest fundraiser—in an action-packed evening of friendly competition, all for a good cause.

Many of the night’s details will be a secret only revealed to those who attend, but here are a few teasers of what you may see.

  • A magical performance to one of Disney’s iconic songs, performed by a modern-day Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers
  • A panel of four quirky judges, including a past Dancing with the Hopkins Stars winner, ready to make you laugh with quick-witted, insightful comments
  • Behind-the-scenes footage of all the dancers rigorously practicing, and possibly stepping on each other’s toes, preparing for the big night
  • A married couple who first danced together 20 years ago at their wedding and will be showing off custom costumes as they swing to a 1940s retro vibe
  • A competitive couple who are confident that their 18-inch height difference will have no impact on their upbeat hip-hop routine
  • One of the gatekeepers to the Dean’s Office, who has supported three university deans of the medical faculty over the past 28 years, breaking out of her shell for an outstanding performance

Each couple is raising funds for a United Way program or other nonprofit organization as part of the event.
