“Wilmer Eye Institute is a place like no other, and I feel blessed every time I pass through its doors.” So says grateful patient Delores (Dee) Giroux. She and her fiancé have been patients at Wilmer for more than four years. “From Rita who greets us at the front desk to the registrars and the receptionists, to the technicians and the doctors, I love each and every one of them,” says Giroux, who has especially high praise for Rita Dziecichowicz, guest relations coordinator. “Rita is irreplaceable,” says Giroux. “She is the loveliest person. She brightens our visit, and we adore her.” Giroux also singled out doctors Peter Campochiaro, Allen Eghrari, John Gottsch and Pradeep Ramulu. “Not only are they gifted at what they do, but they are stellar human beings,” she says.

To show their gratitude, whenever the couple have an appointment at Wilmer, they bring a big box of goodies to share with staff members, physicians and patients. “Bringing cookies for the staff is just a little token of my appreciation for everything they do,” says Giroux, whose extra large Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are in turn very much appreciated.
