In a year unlike any other, the nurses at Howard County General Hospital have continued to show their unwavering dedication in caring for our patients. Our nurses faced uncertainty. They were inundated with ever-changing data, processes and pandemic updates. They became the family at the bedside when no family could hold the hand of their loved one. They took on new roles, often stepping out of their comfort zone. They were strong. Resilient. They remained steadfast in their resolve to their oath: devoting themselves to the welfare of those committed to their care.
This year’s Nursing Annual Report highlights the many ways our nurses pivoted, stepped-up and learned at a frenetic pace. In these articles, our nurses look back on how the pandemic touched them, and in many ways strengthened and forever changed them. They played a critical role in our preparations as the pandemic became a reality and worked as a team like they never have before.
I invite you to read their stories that share their journey as a nurse in a global pandemic. I am incredibly proud of our dedicated nurses.
Thank you for your continued support.
