Message from the Director
A stroke is life-changing event, which is why it is our mission to:
- Deliver the highest-level patient centered care for stroke, including acute treatment, prevention, and recovery
- Discover the underlying mechanisms of stroke and recovery, develop new treatments, and improve delivery/implementation to people at risk
- Prepare the next generation of leaders in the field of cerebrovascular disease
It is our vision that stroke care will be improved for all, with the effective and functional integration of community outreach/education, acute care, prevention/recovery, and research.
We have an excellent multidisciplinary team with expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and recovery of cerebrovascular disease. Our integrated programs include community outreach, acute care, stroke prevention and research. We believe this level of integration in itself constitutes a great innovation in the field of stroke. Our patients access the center through the three areas of care and have access to participate in research and partner with us to continue to push our mission forward.
We look forward to providing you with the best care available and welcome your comments, questions and participation. Together we can shape the future of stroke.
Victor C. Urrutia, MD, FAHA
