There is no better story in the last century of American medicine than the transformation of Johns Hopkins. Building on our history dating back to 1889, the continuation of our commitment to community through innovation, compassionate care, education, and research has transformed Johns Hopkins Medicine into the vibrant medical center that it is today.
Johns Hopkins has remained at the forefront of cutting-edge advancements in education and research for over 200 years. With millions invested in modernizing the East Baltimore campus since the completion of our first medical buildings, our delivery of patient centered care has been enhanced by the notable investment in our faculty, staff, culture, and facilities. More than any other Department on campus, the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine is the largest representation of clinical and research programs with over 18 divisions and 650 faculty, physicians, and physician-scientists and is home to U.S. News & World Report’s top ranked specialties.
