1. APB Research Study: Apixaban Pharmacokinetics in Bariatric Patients

Researchers at Johns Hopkins are evaluating a new oral blood thinner in patients who are undergoing bariatric surgery. Patients with a body mass index of 35 kg/m2 or less, and are approved to undergo bariatric surgery, are eligible to participate.

The study includes four study visits, the first visit prior to bariatric surgery, then visits at one month, three months and one year after surgery. Each study visit includes blood draws and a 24-hour overnight stay in our Clinical Research Unit.

Study participants will be compensated up to $1,000, plus parking costs.
