Complex medical care services are provided by a multidisciplinary team to patients with multiple co-morbitities and complex conditions.

Admission Criteria

• 18 years and older
• Require intensive nursing services and specialized medical care
• Medical diagnosis and corresponding treatment plan that cannot be managed in a less intensive inpatient setting

Treatment plans include:

• Infusion therapy
• Medication management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Chest tube care
• Hemodialysis
• Post-surgical care
• Rehabilitation therapy
• Respiratory care services, including but not limited to invasive and non-invasive support, such asCPAP and BiPAP
• Comprehensive nutrition support
• Bowel and bladder management
• Specialized wound care (see below)

We treat a wide range of conditions, such as:

• Respiratory conditions, including but not limited to COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary effusion (see Respiratory/Ventilator Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation)
• Cardiac conditions including left ventricular assistive device
• Gastrointestinal complications
• Embolism requiring intravenous anticoagulation therapy
• Renal disease
• Conditions involving immunosuppression
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders and stroke
• Infectious diseases
• Hematological complications
• Post-surgical complications
• Wounds and ulcers (see below)

Wound Care Specialty

This service provides specialized care to patients with complex wounds and comprehensive preventative care to preserve skin integrity and enhance healing.

Treatment plans include:

• Comprehensive prevention programs
• Surgical debridements
• Chemical and mechanical debridements
• Compression wraps
• Negative pressure therapy
• Advanced wound care products designed to provide an optimal healing environment

Conditions treated:

• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Venous stasis ulcers
• Arterial ulcers
• Pressure ulcers
• Bone infections (osteomyelitis)
• Soft-tissue infections
• Surgical wounds
• Fistulas
• Gangrene
