Outpatient Community Psychiatry / Acute Psychiatry

Occupational therapists (OTs) who work in mental health may be found on inpatient psychiatric units or in outpatient psychosocial programs. They serve their clients by assisting them toward self-empowerment, education to make self-improvements and personal responsibility. They're trained to use specialized evaluations to assess a client's baseline functioning or any changes that may have occurred due to his or her illnesses or maladaptive behaviors.

Acute psychiatry and outpatient community psychiatry programs offer innovative occupational therapy programs to meet the needs of diverse populations with mental health and sensory processing needs that cover the spectrum of the life cycle from the very young to the elderly.

What We Have to Offer
