Overview
Johns Hopkins Medicine International and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine signed a two-year collaborative agreement in July 2016 to advise the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China, on the planning and initial development of a new medical school. This new public research university aims to become a global leader in science, engineering, and life and health sciences.
About Our Agreement
Under the agreement, Johns Hopkins Medicine International and SUSTech will focus on:
- Knowledge transfer
- Faculty members and academic exchanges, including observerships in Baltimore
- Johns Hopkins experts will provide comprehensive support and advice to the SUSTech-led medical school planning committee in areas such as:
- Curriculum and faculty development
- Admissions and educational administration policy
- Facilities and technology infrastructure
- Clinical clerkship
- Hospital affiliations
