Raniel Tagaytayan is the director for clinical quality at Johns Hopkins Medicine International and specializes in continuous quality improvement initiatives, key performance indicators data management and analysis. His work helps develop the structures and processes needed to ensure the delivery of quality patient care at Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s international affiliates.
Tagaytayan joined Johns Hopkins Medicine International in 2014, serving first as a clinical outcomes analyst who collected, validated and analyzed datasets to provide valuable information to shape outcomes in Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s global collaborations. He then worked as a nurse consultant for quality and safety, bringing best nursing practices to Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s affiliations around the world.
He began his nursing career at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2006 in the Department of Surgery’s neuro-orthospine operating room, providing direct patient care during spinal fusion, craniotomy, shunts and ENT procedures. He also served as chair of the Neurosurgery Nursing Department’s evidence-based practice committee and as a member of the Department of Surgery’s data and analytics committee.
Tagaytayan has a Bachelor of Science in nursing from West Visayas State University in the Philippines and a Master of Science in nursing informatics from the University of Maryland. He is also a certified professional in health care quality. He earned induction in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
