Dinesh Ganesan, M.B.A, M.A., A.C.A

Dinesh Ganesan

Dinesh Ganesan is a vice president and the chief financial officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine International. A seasoned finance executive, he joined Johns Hopkins in June 2016, bringing with him a sound understanding of the international health care market.

As Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s top financial officer, Mr. Ganesan provides leadership in financial planning, budgets and projections; in managing assets and operating cash flows; and in the financial operations of new and existing affiliates, projects and business development opportunities.

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Mr. Ganesan served as CFO for the U.S. employer segments and provider network at Cigna, a global health services company based in Bloomfield, Connecticut. While there, he oversaw commercial business lines that helped employers of all sizes provide health insurance to 12 million customers. Prior to that, he led the financial planning and analysis team for all of Cigna’s international businesses, operating or establishing joint ventures in 14 countries throughout Asia and Europe. He also previously held global business development roles at GE Healthcare and Cigna.

Ganesan holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Madras in India. He earned his M.B.A. in finance and competitive strategy from the University of Rochester in New York, where he completed his internship at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is a chartered accountant in India, the equivalent to a certified public accountant in the United States, as well as a certified management accountant.
