COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Community Donations Protocol

We welcome the community’s support to ensure that our clinical teams have an ample supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies should a shortage arise.

Food Donations

Through generous donations from individuals and businesses in our community, the Howard Hospital Foundation is purchasing meals from certain local restaurants for our staff. For infection control purposes, we cannot accept donations of homemade food, but we are accepting food only from businesses licensed through the Howard County Health Department. In lieu of food donations, please consider a gift to our COVID-19 Response, which is providing thousands of meals to our health care heroes on the front line. Donate here.

Approved Donation Items

Currently, we are accepting donations of the following:

  • N95 Face Masks (unused)
  • Surgical Masks
  • Safety Goggles
  • Face Shields
  • Disposable Gowns
  • Non-latex Gloves
  • Hand Sanitizer (unopened)

LEND YOUR TIME - Sew Cloth Masks

If you have a sewing talent, join our community in making masks that can be used in non-patient care settings. Note: While the masks are not medical-grade and cannot be used by health care providers as protection from COVID-19 during patient-provider interactions, the products may be helpful in non-patient care settings to contain coughs and to remind people not to touch their face.

Please use 100% cotton fabric with a pattern (not a solid color or blue and white) and follow these instructions.

Finished products can be dropped off in a bin at the Medical Arts Building adjacent to Howard County General Hospital. The box will be located in front of the building: 11085 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044

For more information or to coordinate supply donations, please contact Howard Hospital Foundation Development Associate Diane Stulman at dstulma1@jhmi.edu or 410-913-7473.

If you would prefer to make a financial contribution, you may donate here.

We are very grateful for your generosity, your trust and most importantly, your commitment to our mission in this unprecedented time!
