Your Discharge

Time of Discharge

The preferred time for discharge is during the morning hours. However, you may be discharged from the hospital at any time once your physician has prepared your discharge orders. If the person taking you home cannot pick you up when you are cleared for discharge, please let a member of your Care Team know. When you are ready to leave the hospital, a nursing staff member or volunteer will accompany you to your vehicle.

Satisfaction Survey

Howard County General is committed to continually improving the services we provide to our patients. As one component of our efforts, we have commissioned ongoing surveys of those who have received care from the hospital. Your name may be randomly selected to participate in a confidential survey after you are discharged from the hospital. We would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete the survey and return it in the self-addressed, postage-paid envelope.

Your Privacy Rights

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) includes federal laws to protect the privacy of your health information that all healthcare providers must follow. For information, please view the HIPAA Compliance/Privacy Notice.
