HCGH Named 2018 CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired Recipient - 11/05/2018

Release Date: November 5, 2018

COLUMBIA, Md. – Howard County General Hospital is proud to announce it was named one of HealthCare’s Most Wired by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives Fall CIO Forum in San Diego. CHIME’s annual HealthCare’s Most Wired survey provides this designation to organizations that exemplify best practices through adoption, implementation and use of information technology to elevate the health and care of communities they serve.

State-of-the-art technology is an integral part of the patient care at HCGH. The hospital’s robust electronic health record system interacts with numerous other software and hardware applications, from laboratory testing to medication administration, from diagnostic imaging results to patient transportation needs. These applications are vital tools in the hospital’s mission to provide the safest, highest quality care to patients.

“We are proud to receive the Most Wired designation, a goal that was attainable because of our unique collaboration and teamwork with the Johns Hopkins Medicine IT team,” said John Meinsler, director, Information Technology at HCGH. “Our caregivers are able to use state-of-the-art technology to provide the best care possible to our patients and community.”
