Johns Hopkins Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship Program

Johns Hopkins Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offers one of the only Single-Board Hematology Fellowship Tracks in the United States.  Although we are a combined fellowship program, we offer independent 3-year tracks in either Hematology or Medical Oncology that provide a unique 12 month training curriculum that is tailored to each specialty.   After completing the first year of single-board training, fellows can either choose to enter directly into 2 years of mentored academic research training or extend their clinical training by an additional 6 months to receive dual certification, followed by 18 months of clinical training.

The Hematology Track is ideal for fellows with a strong interest in an academic career in benign and/or malignant hematology.  Since its creation in 2005, the Johns Hopkins Hematology Fellowship Track has attracted the best and brightest fellows in the country to pursue their passion in hematology.  The majority of our fellows choose to single-board in Hematology and are highly-recruited for top faculty positions.  We are proud of our excellent record of training hematologists who have gone on to become leaders in their fields. To read more about the Johns Hopkins Hematology Track, check our publication about the program published in Blood.

For applicants interested in benign hematology, Johns Hopkins also offers additional 1-year fellowships in Transfusion Medicine and Laboratory Medicine through the Department of Pathology to provide supplemental training.  If interested, please inquire about these additional training opportunities during your interview day.

Thank you for your interest in the Johns Hopkins Hematology Track.  Additional details of the Johns Hopkins Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, including a description of the track rotations and application process, can be found here
