We Care The Johns Hopkins Hospital Professional Practice Model for Nursing
What does it mean to be a nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital? Above all else, it means caring. In the perinatal unit, assistant nurse manager Heather Davis Bruning had an idea to help improve the experience of patients and families by getting them more involved in the plan of care. Now when one nurse is going off-duty and another is coming on, they gather at the patient’s bedside to tell him or her what to expect and hear what questions or new information the patient or a family member might have. The bedside shift report is just one way that Johns Hopkins nurses go above and beyond to care for patients and families. Learn more at: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/nursing
