Mr. Yan was a teenager from China studying in the United States when he started feeling weak, uncomfortable and feverish. When his fever wouldn’t go away, he went to the hospital for a check-up. It was there that he was diagnosed with lymphoma—a type of blood cancer. Eric Kohler, M.D., Ph.D., an oncologist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, successfully treated the young man. Mr. Yan is now cancer free and pursing his dreams of attending college in the U.S. To learn more about our services for international patients, please visit hopkinsmedicine.org/international or call +1-410-502-7683.
