Beyond Addiction The Center For Addiction and Pregnancy
Krystele Kemp was homeless, pregnant and using drugs when she found a lifeline in the Center for Addiction and Pregnancy at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Kemp has since turned her life around. Her daughter Dani, 5, is a talkative and healthy girl who can remain with the program’s pediatric clinic until she is 21. The clinic treats mothers as well as children, ensuring these fragile families have the care and support they need, says pediatrician Lauren Jansson.
