Healthcare and Population Science Core

Hopkins GIM is proud to host an NIDDK-funded Healthcare and Population Science Core. The Core is part of the larger JHU UMD Diabetes Center, led by Dr. Mehboob Ali Hussain at Hopkins and Dr. Braxton Mitchell at the University of Maryland.

The goal of the HPSCore is to help prevent and control diabetes in Maryland and beyond by two means: first, by supporting diabetes research that focuses on the health of communities and populations; second, by providing a trusted source of information about diabetes and diabetes research for the people of Maryland and neighboring states.
