Scientific Presentations Workshop

Sponsored by the Professional Development and Career Office (PDCO)

The focus of the workshop is on the content and delivery of a research presentation. Participants learn how to plan, organize and deliver a scientific research talk that is both informative and interesting to the audience. The courses addresses how adults learn, and how speaking differs from writing. Participants learn how to use audiovisual aids to enhance their message. Finally, participants learn how to deal with nervousness and conduct an effective question and answer session. The course includes brief interactive exercises.

Skills learned will include: how to get started, how to use the Prezi interface, how to customize the Prezi template, how to insert multimedia into the presentation, and finally, how to present from the web or from a download.
