Our Faculty

Our faculty members of the Department of Emergency Medicine are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in emergency medicine. We are active in local and national medical organizations, serve as editors and writers for leading textbooks and journals, and advise organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Institute of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Department of Homeland Security. We are passionate about teaching emergency medicine to residents and students. We believe our faculty members serve as role models for our trainees and are crucial to the success of our world-class training program.

The diversity of our faculty is a strength of our program. Faculty careers vary from purely clinically based practice to purely research—with all career paths in between. Our research interests are broad and collaborative within the wider Johns Hopkins community, with particular focus on education, disasters, international and global health, infectious disease, social determinants of health, tactical medicine, informatics and emergency department operations.
