After surgery, will I have to share a room?
After surgery, you will have a private room where you can focus on your own recovery.
Can someone stay with me in the hospital?
Yes, each room has a reclining chair for a member of your support system to sleep on during your stay.
Who will check on me during my time in the hospital?
Every day, a group of plastic surgery residents, physician assistants and sometimes medical students, will come check your progress. These residents work with Dr. Coon to track your recovery and provide you with the best treatment plan. In addition, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and social workers may come check in on you to see how you are doing.
What do I need to bring to the hospital with me?
You should bring items to the hospital that will make you comfortable. You should also bring things to keep you entertained – books, iPad, Netflix, etc. When you are discharged, we recommend bringing large comfy clothes to go home in.
Who will I follow-up with after I am discharged from the hospital?
After you are discharged from the hospital, you will have follow-up appointments with someone from the clinical team. Your first post-op appointment date and time will be printed with your discharge paperwork. If you have any questions, please call (844)-546-5645.
