Business Development & Strategic Alliances
Johns Hopkins Medicine created the Office of Business Development and Strategic Alliances (BDSA) to provide business knowledge and commercial transaction experience and expertise that assists executive stakeholders, physicians and other providers and staff with shaping and framing key business issues for major commercial transactions and other significant revenue growth and development initiatives. Operationally, BDSA works with entities and individuals across the health system and school of medicine to shape and lead business development and alliance management efforts in support of strategic initiatives that include enterprise growth and development, new programs and business ventures, care delivery innovations, corporate partnerships and other strategic relationships. Further, BDSA seeks to create a platform and model that enhances and streamlines strategic and business decisions by augmenting internal capacity and capabilities to provide greater structure and coordination for opportunity analysis, assessment, strategic context and rationale, due diligence, partnership formation and transaction processes. These efforts require us to work in partnership with key business units such as:
- Johns Hopkins HealthCare Solutions;
- Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures;
- Johns Hopkins HealthCare Office of Managed Care;
- Johns Hopkins Community Physicians; and
- Johns Hopkins Home Care Group.
We also work with divisions across the medical institution on managed care/population health programs, value-based care initiatives, regional and national patient referrals and the post-acute partnerships.
Our focus is to provide a resource to leverage, commercialize and expand our programs, and capabilities and secure partnerships to generate new revenue and funding streams in support of our mission. Additionally, we help drive and execute our regional and national strategy to target employer and business-to-business networks to drive patient care to JHHS clinical sites.
Whether you're with an external organization looking to form a partnership with Johns Hopkins Medicine or you're a faculty member, staff member, student, or researcher within the Hopkins community, contact us to explore the possibilities.
