To remove adrenal tumors, surgeons at the Brady Urological Institute perform laparoscopic adrenalectomy. During this minimally invasive procedure, three small incisions are made in the abdomen to allow instruments access to the adrenal glands. The diseased adrenal gland is then removed through one of the three existing incisions. Most benign and malignant adrenal tumors can be taken out through this technique.
This minimally invasive option provides patients with less pain, a shorter hospital stay and an earlier return to daily activities.
