Melissa Richardson: Biographies
Melissa Richardson is vice president of care coordination and clinical resource management for The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
In this role, Melissa oversees the Department of Care Coordination and Clinical Resource Management, with responsibility for case management, social work and utilization management. Her focus includes transforming patient care delivery with strategic and innovative approaches, improving patient transitions of care to and from the community setting, reducing readmissions and developing population health strategies for The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Melissa has more than 25 years of health care administration experience, having held a variety of roles throughout the hospital and health system. Most recently, she was the senior director of care coordination for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, an appointment she accepted in 2011. She has also served as director of special projects, director of planning, and assistant vice president of planning and marketing for the Wyman Park Medical Center/Homewood Hospital Center.
Melissa is an organizational mentor and adviser for nursing practice doctoral students at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, and she is a member of the Johns Hopkins Home Care Group professional advisory committee.Melissa obtained her master of business administration degree from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College.
