David Simpkins, M.B.A.
David Simpkins is Johns Hopkins Medicine's vice president of marketing and communications for the National Capital Region. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the marketing and communications and strategic branding and positioning for all JHM institutions in the Washington, D.C. area, including Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital and Howard County General Hospital.
Mr. Simpkins previously served as vice president of strategic communications planning and resources at the American Cancer Society. In this position, he oversaw a spectrum of communications initiatives incorporating the development, integration and execution of high-level strategies. Previously, Mr. Simpkins held the posts of vice president of planning, marketing and business development at Saint Agnes Hospital and vice president of marketing for Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mr. Simpkins received his bachelor's degree from Towson University and his master's degree from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
