Darren Lacey, J.D.
Darren Lacey has been the chief information security officer for The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and Johns Hopkins Medicine for the past 18 years. He has played a major role in building the Johns Hopkins enterprise’s information security program in response to regulatory changes such as HIPAA and increased cyber threat.
Johns Hopkins Medicine is a leader in information security planning, education and operations. The institution works closely with the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory on leading-edge security solutions and is a member of both the Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) and the Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (H-ISAC).
Previously, Darren was appointed as the first executive director of the Johns Hopkins University Information Security Institute, a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance.
