Connor Scott is chief of staff for security and acting vice president for security for The Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Mr. Scott oversees security operations for Johns Hopkins Medicine hospitals and facilities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Florida, and university campus safety and security worldwide.
Mr. Scott has served as the chief of staff for the Office of the Vice President for Security since April 2018. In that role, he has been involved in all aspects of the day-to-day security operations at Johns Hopkins, and is critical to the development and implementation of strategic programs, processes and initiatives.
Mr. Scott came to Johns Hopkins as an experienced city administrator, emergency management professional and first responder. He most recently served Baltimore City as deputy director of operations in the Department of Transportation, and was previously Baltimore’s assistant deputy mayor for operations and deputy director of the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management.
In addition, Mr. Scott spent a decade as a firefighter and emergency medical technician (EMT) in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. He also worked as an EMT for the Temple University Hospital critical care transport team, serving patients of the Temple trauma and burn centers.He is a certified emergency manager through the International Association of Emergency Managers, and he has a Master of Public Administration from Villanova University. He also studied homeland security at Harvard University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
