Charles B. Reuland, Ph.D.
Dr. Reuland’s responsibilities include oversight of all clinical departments, ambulatory operations, and laboratory and imaging services at the 700-bed medical center. As a corporate vice president in the Johns Hopkins Health System, he also assists in the integration of clinical activities across the campuses of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Previously the chief administrative officer for the Department of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Dr. Reuland has also served as director of managed care contracting for Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Office of Managed Care, the assistant administrator for the Department of Surgery, and manager of Hopkins Hospital’s Department of Social Work and Patient Relations.
Dr. Reuland was elected president of Administers of Internal Medicine in 2005, has lectured at national health care conferences on such topics as managed care and the financing of academic medical centers, and has been an author and reviewer of publications for the Journal of General Internal Medicine. He has also served as a consultant to other major academic medical centers, including Yale and Tulane, as well as the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Reuland received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and both his master’s degree in health policy and management and his doctoral degrees from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
